Estonian Economy and Infrastructure Minister Kristen Michal gave approval to three projects to be submitted to the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) energy applications round: Balticconnector gas pipeline, Karksi compressor station and Paldiski liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal, Postimees Online reports.

Last Thursday, MEP Gabrielius Landsbergis addressed Maros Sefcovic, Vice President of the European Commission in charge of the Energy Union, and Margrethe Vestager, European Commissioner for competition, saying that the planned Nord Stream 2 project contravenes primary energy security objectives of the European Union (EU) and the Third Energy Package.
