Major fertiliser manufacturer Achema might purchase gas from Klaipeda's LNG terminal

Major fertiliser manufacturer Achema might purchase gas from Klaipeda's Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) terminal. However the final decision will be made only after analysing the terminal's sustenance model and pricing.

According to Achema's Director General, Ramunas Miliauskas, it has not been answered yet how Lithuania's aggregate natural gas capacity is calculated and how the flexible trade component will be reflected in the final price, when the terminal's operator buys gas at a cheaper and sells at a more expensive price, while the difference is distributed among all consumers.

The director general said that the new LNG sustenance model is lacking inclusion of major gas consumers, possible alternatives and, especially, the introduction of analysed pricing options and projection of concrete figures.
