In June electricity price in the Nord Pool Spot Lithuanian bidding area went up by 15 percent

In June, the electricity price in the Nord Pool Spot Lithuanian bidding area went up by 15 percent compared to May and was EUR ct 4.28/kWh.

The main reason for the price changes were repairs of transmissions links in Latvia and Russia and smaller generation in wind and hydropower plants.

The average electricity price in Lithuania in the first 6 months of this year was EUR ct 3.79/kWh or by EUR ct 0.84 smaller than in the same period a year ago.

However, in June, compared to May, the electricity price grew. Average price stood at EUR ct 4.28/kWh which is by 15 percent more than in May.

In a month, the volume of electricity consumption decreased by 1.3 percent to 0.725 TWh.
